God...it's all your fault!

We've all seen an athlete praise God for winning a game.   Sometimes it seems genuine....sometimes it's not!  The truth of the matter is that God is going to get the glory whether or not we give it to him.  He's Holy.  He deserves it all.  However it is always refreshing to hear it someone genuinely thank God.  

This past Sunday...we witnessed just the opposite happen.  Wide Receiver - Stevie Johnson of the Titans dropped an incredibly catchable ball.   After the game he has some words.  For God. Not nice words to say the least.   Here is the link to the tweet.

The next day.....Stevie clarified his comments with this tweet.

And then denied he ever blamed God with this tweet.

Missing the Obvious

We can get so wrapped up in the details of life that we miss the most obvious things!  I just took Spikey, our new dog, out for a long walk.  I was up early since I had crashed early the night before.   As soon as Spikey sees his leash he goes bonkers!  He jumps about 3-4  feet off the ground in pure excitement of looking at the outside world.  At 6:30 AM on a Saturday morning there is only ever one place I'm ever at.....in bed!   This early I woke up and went outside and the first thing I saw was the most AWESOME sunrise!  The sun was still very orange as it was rising and it made the nearby clouds illuminate with such brilliance.  As I continued down the road with Spikey in tow....I noticed some owls that were perched on their protected sites in the empy lots.  Pretty cool.  I then paid attention to birds that were singing and thought about how God cares for every single one of them.    I'm usually not a big fan of long walks or jogging or whatever.   But as I started to focus on the beautiful simple things of the walk...i began to forget how much I hated walking.  As a matter of fact I quite enjoyed it.    The sunrise, birds, Spikey, owls and the eager dog that wanted to make friends with Spikey were all intriguing.  

I then had a wierd thought.....if I woke up earlier I could enjoy this everyday.  The morning is a beatiful time.  However....next Saturday morning I will probably me still sound asleep in my bed...missing the most obvious.

President Obama gives IPOD to Queen

President Barrack Obama and wife Michelle met Queen Elizabeth yesterday while attending the G-20 summitt.   I found the article quite amusing as it pointed out that the Obama's gave the Queen an IPOD.  Wow.  Now that's a gift that I can appreciate as an avid IPOD owner and fan.  The IPOD was filled with videos of the recent trip that the Queen made while she was in the USA.  The song has also a number Broadway Muscial hits and other popular songs.  You can read more about the IPOD gift here.

 

Which raises the question...what would Obama give to other world leaders?  How about getting the Pope the Godfather movies on Blue Ray Disc. Would he give  Hugo Chavez an book called "Presidency for Dummies" .  What if he gave Fidel Castro a beard trimmer to take off that disgusting beard?  Help me out here what would be some good gifts for other world leaders!

 

The real question...will the queen actually download some "Queen" to her IPOD?

I wasn't bald when I was 16

Ok you are going to get a kick out of this.  When I was in NJ this past weekend my Mom dug up this old video of my brother Alex and I making my first preaching video.  This is so hilarious I just about wet myself.  I uploaded it to youtube last night and have posted the videos below!  Make sure you go the bathroom first as you you see a full head of hair...a deep Jersey accent and me stutter and stammer over my words.  Sometimes I don't even make any sense in my examples and stories that I shared.  Anyway...I thought you would love this...enjoy.
